Lidded, wheel thrown ceramic tea jar with cobalt decoration. Holds approximately 4-5oz of dry tea, spices, screws and whatnot.

This is the third piece I’ve completed in my new series Ano Domini (translation: the Anus of the Master, God’s Asshole). The Chinese characters on the lid translate to “The Anus of the Gods.”

This new series is an examination of patriarchal colonizer culture; the pieces aim to invert the gaze of “orientalist” pottery through comically exaggerated celebration of phallic symbols and hypermasculinity.
